I’l be noticebely absent from my blog and most of the activities of the site network for the next few weeks while doing my part to help coordinate relief efforts for the eartquake victims in Haiti. Haiti is where I spent the first 6 years of my life and both of my parent are from Haiti. I’m optimistic enough to hope that we can rebuild a country that is the paradise that my parents nostalgically describe when they talk about growing up.
I will be posting here as I get a better idea of our planned efforts. I encourage each of you to take the time to see what you can contribute to this effort.
Other than that I don’t know. If you’re looking for the game development resources and other Unity game engine related stuff, you can find them on http://infiniteunity3d.com where the team and hopefully the community will manage it in my absence. I’ll get back to it regularly as soon as situation permits.

One of my favorite projects is 411onsoaps.com We launched earlier this year as a site to allow soap devotees to have aplace to chat, get into it and relate. I met Gigi -online- and she was perfect from jump! She was dedicated to the cause and understod what we wnated to acomplish. We wanted a place where people could enjoy sapswithout restraint or…fear of retribution.
As a geek, most of my sites get a certain amount of hits- geek numbers. Soap operas are a lot more interesting that Flash and Flex and even Unity mumbling. Before we knew it, Gigi had pushed the numbers to the thousands of views on some days. While the site began life at 4,000,000 plus on the alexa scale they quickly found their way to the top million. Yep we were proud of that. The team at 411 on soaps climbed to the top 300,000 faster than I ever imagined and kept working. Their fan base grew exponentially and they used Twitter to meet amazing people that shortly thereafter became part of the 411 on soaps family.
Getting to the point (I know I’m an awful writer-hopefully a better entrepreneur), 411onsoaps.com got the attention of th New York Time thanks to the Tweets from Jessica Acres (one of our co-writters).
I’ll add more to this post later. For now I’m satisfied just being happy that the New York Times even noticed us.
We’l continue to grow and improve our content. Since I’ve met Gigi (@Gigi4462 ) she’s been a godsend on this soaps project. I”m forever grateful that Jessica joined the team. The two of them made the machine work better than I’ve ever dreamed. We’re not even a year in ladies…fasten your seatbelts!
As you might ‘ve already guessed this is not about that. One of the ladies on the 411OSoaps.com team- Ms Jessica Acres came tot the attention of the New York Times. This lead to a New York Times article mention of 411onsoaps.com – sorry NYTmes, we’re very excited about this. What’s fascinating is that the ladies of 411 on soaps are (cliche ahead) the tip of the iceberg. As various cliques come together they will start to show up on the web a slouder voices.
I for one look forward to an internet that is as diverse as the live voices with whom we interact daily. For now I’m satisfied being happy with the fact that the ladies at 411onsoaps have gotten oticed as part of the major wave of people moving their casual conversation online. Ours is about soap operas and characters…What’s your online conversation about.
Welcome to 2010.
