Digging into Flex

I’ve been digging deeper into Flex 1.5 and 2.0 kind of in parrallel the last few weeks and I’m excited and overwhelmed. I think I’m learning that I can’t absorb the whole API. Aparently to become an expert in something it’s more a matter of becoming fluent in it where you can make things happen.

I’m loving this new language but at the same time wondering what that means for the next few months and years untl the rest of the world realizes that Flash has “grown up”.

Right now I’m pursuing a Flash job so that means focus on 2.0 - but in mid spring the Flex release is probably gonna blow the lid off all of this crap and have a lot of developers Flash and otherwise scrambling. I’ll have to se what that means for me. Obviously I’m in love with the languande (AS 2.0-3.0 ect) and excited to see it Flex-ing it’s muscles - you can hit me for that pun) but I know that the grownth of the language means an influx of those who “went to school for it” meaning those of us whp didin’t need to grop our game up and ractice and prepare to meet the expectations.
Either way- I’ve never been afraid of a challenge. This all means to me that Flash is becoming a better platform for what I dreamed it would do- provide a method of realtime communication in a secure manner etc .
