Zinc Delivered- Zinc for AS3 Public beta is available

Yup.  On my first attempt using the version of Zinc 2.5 available at the Zinclabs I was able to not only get a swf from Flex builder 2 to compile but also able to embed a browser in the generated swf.

I have to hand it to the team at MDM.  The version in the labs not only works but has explicit easy to follow instructions on how to set up with Flex Builder 2 use a swc file that imports the needed mdm code hints etc.  I haven’t tested it enough to find bugs etc but I saw it work with ease and that’s enough for me.

I’m curious how the performance improvements of the new player will pan out in the projectors using it.  Either way the doors that this opens and the opportunities are pretty amazing!

If you’ve downloaded your trial of Flex Builder -go grab a copy of Zinc and check that out!
