I love my Flash Platform- Please don’t make me learn J2ME
My Treo 650 is sitting here on my desk. I’ve spent the last chunk of my spare time trying to figure out how to throw together an application for my colleagues at work for this thing. There’s no Flash player for this and I’ve gotten frustrated with the suggested hacks of getting one from a Sony Clie only to code for Flash 5 or something. Please someone help me find some good news. Tell me there’s a way to get a flash player onto my Treo. Tell me that it won’t hvae me playing with Flash 5. Tell me anything (translate)

Joomla 1.5 with MVC

I was browsing Joomla a couple of days ago when I realized that the Joomla 1.5 beta was released. It’s a complete rewrite of the Joomla Framework with all kinds off OO Goodness built in. From my quick look through it it seems to use MVC and a much cleaner class structure than the previous version. I plan to look at it more later this week but I’m post-call tonight and my head is swimming with data. (translate)

Short and sweet. I have tried to learn several languages for my middle tier. They just didin’t sit well with me. To be perfectly honest- ColdFusion didn’t sit so hot with me the first couple of Glances either. That was all before W.A.C.K. I found myself understanding SQL queries a lot better than I had before while reading this book. I’m only on Chapter 19 and will probably need a lot more practice before I actually grasp the full value of what I am learning but I’m getting that same happy feeling that I got when Foundation ActionScript for Flash (translate)

Psychiatrists might make less than other specialties but we have a life!!!!! I was looking at an article at one of the medical blog sites and they did that same bullcr@p they always do before they list our salaries. Don’t put a disclaimer on my salary…and don’t act like the other spcialties don’t lose $100,000 of their slary a year to malpractice insurance!! Okay I’m calm now. I’ve listener to the whole book on tape and at first it osunded like a great way of thinkin- right up to the part where I ( a person with florid Adult-ADD) is supposed to stack everything ,that’s everywhere that I have been putting off doing and stack it in one pile. Woohooooo!!! Okay I’m calm now. I’ve heard this is amazing for productivity so I added a 20 inch flatscreen to my life and then bought a video card for $30 -slid itinto one of PCI slots and here we are!!! I found some articles on Directron site the Microsoft site that helped a lot. I also found this wonderful utility that whoops Belarc Advisor. Everest Home Edition This one actually tells u the links to the drivers that you are missing. I heart Google! Two monitors, two Beyonces!! I feel more productive already!! (translate)

This article about M.D. Meltdown is pretty interesting. I always resented surgeons who took out their misery on us and the nureses when we were in med school I think the atmosphere is changing. It’s about time. I think as a whole society is undergoing a “humanizaton of the physician”. Even cutting our workweek down to 88hrs(even if some people still don’t get it!!) is a step in the right direction. At our resident orientation I was impressed that they actually addressed sleep deprivation- a couple of full sessions about it actually. Many of the specialties are starting to change (translate)
