So what’s going to happen to my Studio 8 Upgrade with all of this CS3 talk?

I’ve been getting excited about the impending release of the whole CS3 set but got hit with a troubling thought.  What do the changes to the packaging of Flash and the elements of the Studio 8 (from the Macromedia days) mean to someone at upgrade time.  I love my Studio 8 studio but…I’m not ready to shell out  the cost of a startup kit /full product right now.

  1. The IT guy at work is wondering the same thing. With the need for about a 10 pack of CS3/Macromedia Studio apps, this could be a very expensive second quarter, indeed.

  2. That’s what I was asking myself.

I’m betting on some kind of ‘upgrade’ offer from Studio 8 -> CS3, but the big question is how worth will it be.

The two different flavors of Photoshop don’t make me happy either. :/

  3. I’m looking forward to the “super-duper every-single-web-app-we-make” bundle…

    Photoshop Extended
    Illustrator
    Acrobat Pro
    Flash Pro
    Fireworks
    ColdFusion Developer
    Dreamweaver
    Contribute
    FlashPaper
    InDesign
    Version Cue
    Bridge
    Stock Photos

I would guess it’ll be roughly the same price point as the existing software, around $1000 to upgrade, and around $2000 to buy new…
